New Years Eve is a very lively night in St. Martin and there are many options to choose from, so here are some ideas on where you can spend your New Year’s Eve during your St. Martin vacation.

Grand Case:

For diner: We highly recommend you make your diner reservations in advance as the popular restaurant will be full.

The Sunset Café, located directly at the Grand Case Beach Club is offering a variety of Specials for their New Years Eve Menu. The Specials include:

Water Cress soup Crab Meat

“Foie Gras” Pate Home Made, Chutney of pineapple

Sea Scallops Gratin

Tropical Sea Bass with Green Asparagus, Lobster sauce

Traditional Willington Filet Beef

Red Snapper Royal « Papillote » with Truffle Infusion

Surf & Turf with Veal Tenderloin and Shrimp, Asian risotto parmesan

After diner:

Le Shore in Grand Case is celebrating their last night and is only a 5min walk from the Grand Case Beach Club. Their New Year’s Eve Party starts at 11pm with an entrance fee of 10€. Entertainment includes the amazing new fire bolas show by Akim, Fireworks, Go Go Dancers and DJs

OrientBay:

All inclusive evening:

Palm Beach is located at the end ofOrientBayand is located on the beach itself. They are organizing a fix menu at 150€ which includes half a bottle of Veuve Cliquot Champagne, a cocktail upon arrival, starters, appetizers, “Trou Normand”, Main Dish, Cheeses, Dessert. There will also be entertainment throughout the evening with dancers and a DJ arriving specially fromParis. You also have a beautiful view of the fireworks directly above the ocean.

Waïkiki Beach is located more in the center ofOrientBaybut also directly on the beach. They are offering an all inclusive evening of dining, entertainment, fireworks and music. The rate is 200€/person and this includes a three course meal (menu & specials, drinks not included) along with entertainment and dancers throughout the night, fireworks at 12am and a special DJ fromParisafterwards.

Philipsburg:

For Dinner:

Hard Rock Café on the Boardwalk is located in the center of Philipsburg with a nice view on the Ocean and the Boardwalk below. Their diner options are a buffet including salads, main dish and desserts and a glass of champagne at 40$ per person between 6:45pm and 8:45pm and 50$ after 8:45.

After Dinner:

Most bars along the boardwalk will have live music or Dj’s even on the boardwalk and the beach itself. It is usually one of the liveliest places to go to on New Year’s Eve. A nice place to go to after diner is the Get Wet Bar which will also have their own DJ along with a perfect view of the fireworks at 12am.

Of course these are just a few of the many places that will be celebrating the New Year inSt. Martin, though these 3 areas are known to be the most animated on that evening. Even to just stroll up and down the street there will be many food stands and live bands. So you can just choose as you go along but we really do recommend diner reservations beforehand. Of course we are available for any further information you may require, the reception is open daily from 7am until 1am ready to answer any question you may have about celebrating New Year’s during you St. Martin Vacation and for other diner recommendations.

Winter is growing chilly and snowy, and school holidays have begun – it’s time to escape from icy northern weather and enjoy a warm St. Martin vacation. The weather averages a balmy 25 degrees. The ocean is a beautiful turquoise colour. The sand is white – kind of like snow!

Have you made your reservation yet? Before you jump on a plane, there are a few things that are important to know before flying off French West Indies’ St.Martin, this most friendly of friendly Caribbean islands:

Plan where you’re going to eat
This is a busy time of the year, so it is important to plan any activities you would like to do during your stay on St. Martin, including dining. Most of the best restaurants get very full and so it is best to make your diner reservations ahead of time. Many websites offer good dining recommendations and menus are often also available online.

The staff at the Grand Case Beach Club is also happy to make reservations for you – just call us toll-free, or shoot us an email.

Make sure you bring enough cash
When dining or doing anything else that cost money in in St. Martin it is also best to ask about the currency rate. As the exchange rate between the Euro and Dollar varies daily, many shops and restaurants establish a fix exchange rate. On the Dutch side for example many restaurants have a 1$=1€ rate.

Bring a passport, and give yourself lots of time
Please remember that you need a valid passport to clear customs when arriving at the airport in St. Martin. From there to go to your hotel there you can either take a taxi, there are many available in the arrival area, or rent a car directly at the airport. On your departure date you should make sure to leave early for the airport as there may be a lot of traffic. If you are flying out of Juliana Airport, it’s best is to get to the airport a few hours early, check in and then go the Sunset Beach Bar and watch the planes land right above the beach before you take your flight home.

Bring an electrical adaptor
The voltage in the French West Indies (which includes St. Martin) is 220V, so make sure to bring an adapter for your electronics, such as your laptop or iPhone charger. And, needless to say, be very careful of the voltage before you plug in you electronics.

If there is any other information you need regarding your St. Martin Vacation you can send us an email at reservations@gcbc.com and we would be happy to help you.

Enjoy and Happy Holidays!
