"We would never consider staying anywhere else on St Martin", Jan 9, 2010

The location of the GCBC is perfect. Well off the beaten track in St Martin, with two excellent beaches and walking distance to absolutely the best dining in the Caribbean. My wife and I were looking for three days of decompression following the craziness of Christmas with three teenagers. We went without the kids and at GCBC were able to step out our door onto the beach, wander to the bar, wander back to the beach. The room was neat and clean and stocked with snacks and a mini-bar, along with a free bottle of French wine upon arrival. The staff, as well as the guests, were all very friendly and we enjoyed the mixer on our first night. A huge draw for us was that we could walk to gourmet lunches and dinners at just superb restaurants. I can honestly say, after thirty years of globe trotting, that THE best meal I have ever had was at Le Pressoir in Grand Case. We never found any reason to wander off the property, even though we had rented a car to tour the island, and could have stayed a week without feeling the need to explore. From what we saw on our circumnavigation of the island to and fro the airport , we were immensely pleased with our choice of Grand Case Beach Club.

"Wish we stayed longer" Jan 17, 2010

We were in a 2nd floor room that looked directly onto the beach (1st floor rooms were just a few steps from the ocean). Check in was quick and friendly. Our room was spotless, not luxurious but very nice for a 3 star“beach hotel” and the king bed was very comfortable. We only stayed 2 nights pre-cruise, but the kitchenette would be useful if staying longer and wanting to cut expenses. Coin operated washing machines are available on site. Staying over New Year's weekend we did pay a premium, but all hot all hotels were priced higher for this weekend and over all I was happy with what we got for the price.
The complimentary breakfast was a nice touch; though we added smoked salmon and cream cheese from the al a carte menu. Dinner was excellent and dining with the waves crashing into the rocks right below made for a memorable New Year’s Eve dinner. At the bar, Lawrence took great care of us and made sure we were enjoying our stay Few resorts I have visited have such a friendly and happy staff and warm wishes for a “Happy New Year” were abundant!
The flowers and plants surrounding the hotel were beautiful and well taken care of. Entrance to the resort is through security gates and when one of the gates was broken a guard stood at the exit for several hours until it was repaired. The beaches are small but lovely and sea weed and debris was cleared away first thing in the morning. Plenty of beach chairs were provided and drink service was available by raising a flag on a post.
Being within a 5 minute walk to Grand Case was perfect for us. We enjoyed the variety of beach bars and restaurants from the high end to the ultra casual. Grand Case is a friendly “beach village” and has a relaxed kind of hippy chic “vibe” to it.
We loved Grand Case and the Grand Case Beach Club! I just noticed that rates drop in mid April and I’m seriously thinking about returning at that time and exploring more of the island of St. Maarten.

"Paradise on Earth"  Dec 30, 2009

The hotel was just a perfect spot to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary. Nestled away from the noise and traffic of Phillipsburg the Grand Case, locatyed on the french side fof St. Martin, was just paradise. Set on its own private beach, the hotel offered all the watersport ammenities. We had a huge one bedroom suite, ocean view, which was large, with two full bathrooms, granite top kitchen, widescreen tv in the livingroom, and a flat screen in the bedroom. The room led out to a patio which overlooked the turqoise sea white sandy beach . Everything was immaculate, the hotel staff were so helful and friendly, and the restaurant was fabulous. Within walking distance from Grand Case which is home to over 15 fabulous french restaurants, one better than the other. The hotel is about a 20 minut drive to Marigeau which is the 2nd largest city, and has great restaurants and shopping. You can also hop on a ferry there to either Angilla or St. Barts.
