SUP Paddling On St. Martin
Stand-up paddling is a great way to experience our wonderful Caribbean island
From a vantage point atop a paddleboard, it's a great way to peer down at the reefs below and spot everything from sea turtles to eagle rays while keeping an eye on the ever-changing horizon.
The widely popular activity of SUP involves taking a long surfboard, combining it with a two-bladed paddle, and a lot of human power. Stand-up paddling is enjoyed by people from all walks of life and every ability, and is particularly popular with women because the sport is easier for them than men to master – women typically have a lower center of balance than do men, which makes it much easier to get out and about on a surfboard.
Where to go for SUP on St. Martin
With its many protected bays, St. Martin provides wonderful opportunities for SUP paddling. The "windward" east side of the island may be more challenging for beginners, but the beach right here at Grand Case is a perfect place to start.
